A New Year, A New Game

So, I've downloaded Red Version from the Nintendo eShop, and I have been LOVING getting back to my grass roots (with fire... I chose Charmander). At the time of my posting this, I'm on the Bike Path on my way to Fuschia City. My current team including:
My girlfriend has been playing along with me with her downloaded Yellow Version. Feels so good to do this. I've even some plans for these pokemon and a couple other...

Bulba Breeding

So since I have a Shiny Charizard and a Shiny Blastoise (both of which I have obtained from others in one fashion or another), I have decided to round out the trio and breed for myself a Shiny Venusaur. So far I have the IVs close to where I want, the Nature exactly what I want. The Ability is tricky, but I have a chance at it. Now all comes down to the parents.

Additionally, I have transferred to my Alpha Sapphire a crapload of my other Pokémon to help fill up my Living Dex, in th...

Nigh on the Fourth

It's been a long time since I've made a blog entry, so here is at least some of what has been happening, leastways today. Last night, a good friend of mine gave me her untrained shiny charmander she got in a trade. All she wanted was a meowth. Upon checking out the little guy, I learned he had an Adamant nature, Solar Power ability, 5 perfect IVs in everything but Special Attack, and the moves Outrage, Dragon Dance, and Flare Blitz. Obviously, this little shiny charmander was intended for gre...

Online Battling

I hope I'm not the only one with this opinion, but people who use nothing but legendaries in their teams royally tweak me off! It's like... why have all this plethora of powerful and vast pokemon when Johnny No-Skills can use a stupid Kyogre, Palkia, and Xerneas all at the same time!? And then they go into the online battles thinking they're top-$#&%, when really they have no skills outside the Ubers tier. I can understand one legendary on a team, and on occasion two, but a team of 3+ leg...

Mizore the Froslass

Before the last semester ended, my friend (also known as Alex) gave me a Timid Shiny Female Snurunt with Spikes. So today, just for the heck of it, I decided to take a reprieve from my Regional Dex completion to work on Mizore (as he named her). She actually was fairly easy to train up, as most of what she was gonna get was either already on her, going to be instantly on her, or was a TM. Here is her setup:

Huntail Complete!

So a while back I decided that if I am to complete the pokedexes, I might as well train up each pokemon that evolves into a competitive force. So while I was going through my pokemon, I realized that I hadn't had ANY of Clamperl's family. So I looked through the strategies on Smogon and found a few that could work. With the aid of my girlfriend, I managed to evolve my Clamperl I've been training into a useful utility pokemon. Here it is as it stands:

Pokémon: Huntail
Type(s): W...

Clamperl and the Shiny Gligar

Posted by Alex on December 16, 2014 at 4:50 AM Comments comments (0)

Well it's a good thing I didn't run from that battle! Tonight I was working on training up my Clamperl so that it could get Shell Smash at Level 50. I tend to run away from Gligar hordes on Kalos Rt. 19 mainly because they are annoying to deal with. And just as I noticed the horde was Gligar and I was a second from running, sure enough there was a blue among the purple! I used Chesnaught to take out the other four and managed to swipe the little bugger in an Ultra Ball with a critical capture...
